Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • G`day.

Hello from a non but maybe VW owner.
Tried the recent models of Jetta 147TSI, Golf 118TSI and whenever the new Polo GTI will be able for test drives, might even take the Golf GTI for a drive as well.
Think the VW deliver good value for the money compared to other German cars.
    Cheers.

If you want 'GO' then of course go for the GTI
BUT, if you just want a SURGE of POWER, try the 103TDI. It pulled my arms off going uphill around a corner.
As an older driver, a bit like having "The horse bolted!")
Had a really hard choice between the 118TSI and the 103TDI
    Enjoy

I would personally go for the Jetta,it is such a superb buy,but then I am biased towards them.
Mine served me brilliantly until a recent hailstorm in Melbourne wiped it out from me 4 weeks ago, very sad still.

Yes me and my missus really liked the Jetta and had great sales people which made the experience so great.
It was a good deal as well, Highline with leather seats plus Iphone & Ipod for $40K drive away.
But since our old car is still functioning and lack of the needed funds at the moment we had to say no but we certainly know where to go when/if the time come for a purchase.
        Cheers.
